What do these three things have in common? The first is Charlie in Haiti with children from the orphanage. The second is a gas tank less than full and the third is a lemon car.

Answer: All of them have a power shortage or lack energy.

Charlie has been extremely sick since coming back from Haiti. He contracted some parasites which left him extremely weak. He lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks from diarrhea and loss of appetite. Fortunately we have been able to find the right mix of medication, herbs and prayer so that he is beginning to finally get some pep back. Many of you saw him at the National Missionary Convention and commented to me that he looked very gray and listless. We are very glad to report that he seems to be improving daily.

The lemon car represents a major transmission problem with our 2000 Mazda Protégé. We have since discovered that this particular model has problems with the transmission going out around 60,000 miles. Our car has over 80,000 miles and the transmission is slipping badly. We were able to “limp” home from Atlanta without a major breakdown . Needless to say our prayer life was greatly enhanced and now we are facing the problem about what to do about it!

Do we spend 1600 dollars to rebuild the transmission or do we replace the car? If we rebuild there is only a year warranty and the possibility of other major problems occurring. What to do? Please pray with us as we explore the many possibilities before us.

We appreciate your prayer support so much!

Hi Kathy,

I'm Rhiannon from the "Friendly Friday" marching band, visiting sites who don't have many comments but who most certainly are worthy of more!

Reading this post about your car situation, boy can I relate!I had a very similiar situation a few years back and I decided to keep my car and have the work done. No regrets so far.:o)I hope whatever choice you make it all turns out okay for you.

I play the piano in the Friendly Friday band and hope to have more join us and stop by to say hi to blog sites who don't have many comments but certainly deserve more! Just like yours..:o)

With Angel Blessings,

Rhiannon

Hi Rhiannon, and Kathy!

Beautiful blog (mine's pictureless-- I think I like it that way, though!).

My input on the car sitation: get a new one. Well, a used one that is new to you.

You might be able to find a place to trade her in for $3500 (ok, you can in southern Colorado)... Best of luck!

My thoghts are with you!

And Charlie sounds like a wonderful person!

HI! thanks for stopping by my spot on the web!

Haiti? Where? With what group? What orphans? How are things there? I was in Haiti in 2002 working with a group of orphan girls.

Is this what they mean by "This car's a lemon."?
