Dear Friends,
They say “home is where the heart is” if that’s
true then you will know that every month you are a special part of our home and our heart. We are so blessed by your words of encouragement, prayers, volunteering, and most of all , your financial support. January, February and March are notoriously “lean months “for all missions and we always brace ourselves for shortfalls in our household expenses.
We know many that have lost their jobs, have had their hours cut back, been downsized, or are having financial difficulties , yet still faithfully support us.
“Thank you “ hardly seems adequate for your sacrifice but please know that we are deeply moved by your love, support and stewardship.
This is a picture I really like of our “OZ” with his Poppa. His shirt says, “Grandpa is my hero”. I agree with the sentiment of the shirt, Charlie has always been one of my heroes too. He has a birthday this month on the 15th, so say an extra prayer for him , okay?
We were blessed by some special financial gifts during the Christmas season so we invested in some hearing aids for Charlie. We knew he had “significant” hearing loss for a long time but he did not feel that we could afford the digital hearing aids he would need. Our children convinced him that he could not put it off any longer. We were thrilled to get a substantial discount from a local vendor . He is adjusting quite well and discovering “new sounds “in our home that he never heard before.
We are looking over our schedule, praying over times to make our annual trip to Savannah as well as a possible mission trip . Finances have always been God’s short leash in giving us direction.
Please accept our “Valentine” as evidence of our thankful hearts.
Charlie and Kathy
