Dear Friends and Family.....Happy July from our nest!

We have had lots of visitors lately. We were thrilled to have Charlie’s sister Anne with her husband Ken and daughter Patricia. Anne and Ken live in Kansas and were visiting their daughter Patricia, who teaches in North Carolina. They are so good to include us in their yearly visit.

We were very happy to host a picnic at the Nest. Brother James with wife Marilyn and nephews Nathan and Jeremy joined us in a mini family reunion. They live in the Richmond suburbs. We try to get together at least once a year during Anne and Ken’s visit to Virginia.

We love our family and miss them even more right after we have been able to spend some time together. It reminds us how blessed we are to have these very special people in our lives.

Work is continuing at ETS. We are seeing more and more missionaries visit to get supplies and equipment as the economy continues to worsen. We are honored to serve “these heroes of faith” and to pray for their ministries. Many days I spend the entire day reading prayer letters and crying over the seemingly impossible situations . We take comfort in the words of Matthew 19:26 “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Currently we are painting ,priming, sanding, and patching walls in the Office Supply room since the windows have been replaced in that room. The prep work takes much more time than the actual painting. All of the rooms need to be painted and the enormity of the task is overwhelming. I’m reminded of the old joke, “How do you eat a hippo?” Answer: “ One bite at a time! Some days we feel blessed to get one wall painted!

We are trying to consolidate materials and get them out of our storage into ministries that need them. Charlie recently palletized hospital linens that had been stored and less than 24 hours later they were all spoken for. We are slowly getting more organized but it is a constant battle to stay on top of the growing amounts of clothing, computers and medical supplies.

What do you think of our ETS shirts? We designed them especially for groups that come from out of state to work with us. We thought they came out pretty well.

Thank you for your prayers and support. We appreciate your sacrifice and investment in our ministry more than words can express.

Blessings,

Charlie and Kathy
