May 2006

Dear Friends ,

We are back!

We had a wonderful time in Savannah and were able to meet with many small groups, men’s prayer breakfasts, and women’s Bible study group. What a wonderful time to reconnect with so many old friends! The weather was hot already and we certainly don’t miss the sand gnats!

We lived in Savannah for 17 years and our children grew up there. We were able to get our “Savannah Treats” that we can only purchase there. I was able to go to the “Tea Room” with some dear friends and eat at some of our favorite places. Our children followed our adventures through my “blog” (http:// lazydaisylog.grrrlmeetsworld.com ) . I posted pictures of places we had been and friends we had seen, so they almost felt as if they had gone too. Our trip certainly brought back many sweet memories of our life there.

Since returning we have been on the run. We had two groups here this past weekend and two coming in this week. We are currently gathering supplies to send to Jamaica to a deaf school as well as sending much needed medical items for a shipment to Cuba.

Charlie is repairing copiers and business machinery. We are also repairing hospital linens to be sent all over the world. Several of our area churches have ladies groups that have been sewing and repairing the sheets, scrub suits, gowns, towels and baby receiving blankets. In the next few months we will be sending a large portion of these linens to a hospital in the Sudan.

Please pray for continuing good health, more full time staff, prioritizing of supplies and equipment, and for the ability to connect with ministries that need the supplies we have. We appreciate your prayers and support so much.

We will be going to New York City mid-May to see our daughter Suzy graduate with her Master’s Degree in Library Science. Charlie is excited about touring the World Vision warehouse where our son-in-law Tim is working and also see our son, Andy.
Blessings,
Charlie and Kathy Bennetch
