September 2006
Dear Friends and Family,
We survived August. The heat was intense and the back to back containers were very hard on us. We were able to send out medical supplies to the Sudan and lots of monitors and CPU’s to Tajikistan. God was faithful in bringing in volunteers to help load the container and also fortified us with strength to finish the job. Charlie, as the load master , bore the brunt of the burden of placing each item in the container and packing around it. Monitors are extremely tricky to stack.
There were some frustrations in building retainer walls to keep pilfering at a minimum. We were all very happy to see the second container leave and know it is on its way. The container to the Sudan was time critical as it needed to arrive before the rainy season and before the Christmas holidays as officials tend to put more fines on containers during the holiday season.
We are looking at doing a container for Guatemala this month for a Christian school. This container has been in the making for the last year and a half so we are very pleased to be able to send it out soon. It will have desks, file cabinets and ministry supplies.
We are enjoying the cooler weather and the produce of our summer garden. I am currently knee deep in tomatoes…..just call me the Salsa Queen!
This is the month that my New Yorkers tend to move. Suzy and Tim are now in the upper floor of a Victorian House. They have signed a two year lease so will not have to move next year at this time. Andy has moved to an apartment in Queens. It is a much nicer neighborhood and has cut down his commute time by an hour.
Thank you for your love and support. We rely on you as a very important part of our prayer team. Charlie says we depend on your prayers, God’s mercy and Advil! Blessings,
Charlie and Kathy Bennetch
