News from the Nest

Late January 2007
Dear Friends and Family,
We are pleased to welcome into our family our little Granddaughter Emmalee Anne. Emma , as her momma and daddy are calling her, was born January 18th in Saskatoon, Canada. She weighed in at 8 pounds 1 oz and is 20 inches tall. She doesn’t like to have her feet covered and she is already making her wishes known.

This Virginia Diva (grandma) and Poppa (grandpa) are anxious to hold her and kiss her sweet cheeks. We are showing remarkable restraint not to cash in our tickets and fly right back to Canada. Spring can’t come quickly enough for us.

Meanwhile this new little family is bonding and becoming a strong family unit. Jerry has 4 weeks vacation time off and Becky will have a year’s paid maternity leave furnished by the Canadian government. So far there have been many sleepless nights and some anxious moments but they are learning to cope.

Thank you for sharing our joy and making our trip to see her a possibility. We appreciate your love and concern for us and for our latest edition. As Charlie would say, “She’s the newest thing we’ve got and she leaks!”
