February 2007
Dear Friends and Family,

We often wonder if our letters are greeted with the same kind of enthusiasm as that of our Emma reading her new book. Nice to look at, but best read to prepare you for a good night’s rest. If it seems like most of our letters are similar it’s because our days are full of moving, hauling and sorting goods and equipment for overseas use.

It’s not glamorous work, and often while sorting used clothing we laugh or joke about advertising this opportunity as “retail therapy” for those that are mall challenged. Somehow after sorting through bags and bags of clothing, shoes, belts, toys, cookware, books and knickknacks, shopping tends to lose its appeal.

Charlie is holding a very nice newspaper article recently written in our local newspaper about ETS. He was excited to see his picture on the front page. I was commenting on his pictures as he looks really grumpy and I said, “Would you buy a used car from this man?” He laughed at me and said, “Well at least my picture isn’t featured at the Post Office.” The headline reads “A Spirited Mission”, and features a quote from Charlie that says: “ We’re not looking for bargain hunters. We’re looking for
volunteers.” Since so many people misunderstand what ETS is all about, we were
delighted to have a newspaper reporter accurately describe our work.

Our church has launched a small group ministry, to help shepherd our members, and to reach out to the community. We will be working together as a couple to lead one of the groups, and Charlie will be a resource person to help the other leaders with any problems they might encounter. Pray that we will be effective in this new venture, and that we will be a source of encouragement to the other leaders.

February is a month of birthdays for our family. Becky and Emma shared a cake ( her birthday and Emma’s 2 week birthday) and my late Valentine Charlie has a birthday on the 15th.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support. We love partnering with you as we serve the Lord together.
Blessings,

Charlie and Kathy Bennetch
