Dear Friends, Late April 2007
Thank you for all your prayers, calls, and get well cards for Charlie. He came through the surgery without complications and is recovering well but not as quickly as he seems to think he should be. The hardest part was trying to keep him contained at home so he could heal. He is back at work now, lifting, and stacking pipes, boxes and machinery. As he likes to say, “It’s hard to keep a good man down!” We give God the glory and praise for our excellent surgeon and for bringing in extra provisions.
We are looking forward to going to New York this weekend to see Andy, Suzy, and Tim. It’s been almost a year since we have seen them so this mama is really excited about spending some time with them. It will also be “the maiden voyage of our previously owned car” before we take off to Savannah. We will be making this trip again in June with Becky, Jerry and baby Emma.
Spring cleaning has hit the nest. We had dark beige curtains that made our home look like a cave. So after washing the windows, I replaced the curtain with white sheers. Now it is cheerful and sunny. Of course I also moved all the furniture and washed all the rugs. With two cats and a dog I found enough cat hair to make another animal.
I wish there was some way to adequately express our gratitude and appreciation for your prayers and your financial support. April is routinely a hard month for us because of taxes . The added surgical expenses was not a pleasant surprise but nothing is impossible with God. At this writing we have been able to pay the surgeon and have made arrangement to make monthly payments to the hospital. We look forward to visiting our Savannah friends, May 6-11.
Blessings,
Charlie and Kathy
