Dear Friends and Family

This picture was taken in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

We enjoyed a day trip to Bethlehem with Suzy, Tim and Oscar. Not only did we do the walking tour of the city but we also went to a “Peeps Fest”. Who knew that Bethlehem is the home of the Marshmallow yellow chicks and pink bunny treats? We got to make smores . It was Oscar’s first time eating a smore and it looks like the smore is biting back! We have been very blessed to experience many “firsts” with both of our grandchildren despite the distance

We have many projects facing us this month. We are working on gathering materials for a container to Papua New Guinea . We are boxing summer clothing to send as well as chairs, tables and other items. This week we will be sending out bicycles to the Philippines, microscopes to Honduras and medical supplies to Haiti . We have three groups coming to work with us on the following three Saturdays . It seems like the work never ends, we just quit for the day.

We are celebrating two birthdays this month. My Mom is turning 83 this weekend and we will be traveling to Virginia Beach to join my two sisters. We are very blessed to have a fiercely independent mom who lives alone and still does all her own gardening and lawn care.

Our other birthday celebration is our own Miss Emma who will be three on January 18th. She has grown so quickly and is learning new skills every day. She is having a “Curious George” birthday party. Charlie really wishes we could be there to help her celebrate. He would really like to dress up as “the man in the yellow hat.”

Thank you for your prayers and support. We are well and praising the Lord that we got through 2009 without any injuries or surgeries. Sending you warm thoughts and prayers for a wonderful 2010.

Charlie and Kathy
