Another Christmas is approaching and as we look back it seems that the year just flew by. Our year was highlighted by family events. Charlie celebrated his 60th birthday in February and according to Chinese tradition started a new life cycle.
We laughed at Oscar in September, celebrating his second birthday. When asked how old he was, he held up two fingers and said, "Two old." We can certainly agree with him there are many days we feel "too old" also.
This is our 7th year here at Equipping The Saints, and the mission will be celebrating it's 20th year of service this coming year. We have been very busy painting, replacing windows, replacing the roof, gutters, and patching walls for a spring open house.
Our income has decreased along with the economy. We find ourselves being very careful with the resources that God has given us to manage. Our needs are simple and we are learning to be content with less. We appreciate our "nest", good food, good company, our family, our health and our church much more.
Two of the things we have learned this year are, "God only says "no" to bring us a better "yes" and with God behind us, and His arms beneath us, we can face whatever lies before us.
