Rejoice with those that rejoice!

One of the joys of growing older is the privilege of interacting with your grandchildren. We were able to travel to New York and participate in Oscar's 3rd birthday.

Oz is into anything with wheels (cars, tracks, monster cars, buses, etc.) Our very clever daughter and son-in-law staged a car extravaganza and even got Poppa involved in making a race car track and block cars for the guest to decorate and race.

The race cars and races were a big hit with the "under 5 crowd" and their dads. Everyone won an award even if it was for the best sportsmanship, or the most creative design.

Tim made cars our of boxes for each child for a rousing game of "Follow the Leader" and "Red Light, Green Light". The cardboard cars were a big hit and causes me to wonder what these kids will like as teenagers with their first car!

Even the party food was car related, Veggie Vehicles, Oreo Spare Tires, Stop Light Cookies, Peach Tea Motor Oil, and of course a car cake. Suzy wanted everyone to catch the play on words so she made the "O" and "S" out of rice crispy treats, looking like a road and had it in front of the car....O-S car ...(Oscar). The birthday boy was very excited to blow out the candles and dive right into the yummy cake.

It was a lot of work but tons of fun. We treasure the time we are able to spend with our family.
