What do 3,000 Telephones, A TV, and Sound Booth have in common?

They have one thing in common: these were gifts sent to ETS and God had a plan or each of them!

The 3,000 telephones were offered to us as a donation from an university here in Virginia. But who needs 3,000 telephones? We didn't want to turn these down, but we had no idea what to do with them. I (Charlie) was led to call a ministry in Arkansas that installs telephones all over the world ( 20 to 20o at a time). They were interested, and now they are making arrangements to get these picked up and delivered to their warehouse. We will never see these phones, but that's OK! Some hospital or ministry will be blessed by them.

A TV came in as a donation the other day. We don't normally take TV's, in that there is little demand for them on the mission field. But I hated to disappoint the elderly man who brought in the set. He said it didn't work, and so he had replaced it. I thought to myself that I would just quietly dispose of it after he left. When we turned the set on, it worked fine. It had several features that made it better than the one in our living room, so we took it home. But then we had our old set, which was perfectly fine. What do we do with it? We were on our way to church and Kathy thought, "Why don't we give it to our neighbors?" I thought that sounded like a great idea. I had no way of knowing that their TV had died just 2 days earlier. They have a very limited income, so this was a great blessing to them!

The sound booth was offered to us by a retiring ENT physician. I gave it some though , and then called a ministry in Canada that puts Christian radio stations around the world. I asked them if they wanted it for a recording studio or for a radio station. They said they would be delighted to get it. We have had to dismantle it---no small task because its parts are so heavy-but now it will go somewhere in the world to be used in audio or radio ministry.
